Jeddah Tower: Rising Above the Burj Khalifa

Saudi Arabia's Jeddah Tower, also known as Kingdom Tower, is set to dethrone Dubai's iconic Burj Khalifa as the world's tallest building. Jeddah Economic Company has resumed construction on this 1,000-meter-plus skyscraper, featuring luxury amenities and the world's highest observatory. Foundation work is complete, with a tender issued for the superstructure. The tower, part of the $20 billion Kingdom City development and is expected to cost $1.2 billion, standing at least 173 meters taller than the Burj Khalifa. Its innovative design incorporates green technology and shadow-creating notches, and a 157th-floor sky terrace will offer breathtaking views to the public.
