The Effects Of Isolation

We lead lives that revolve around social activities and interactions, but what if we were deprived of them? A study showed that isolated individuals had improved decision-making, creativity and imagination. However, prolonged social isolation led to a decline in cognitive function and recall, depression, anxiety, and a greater risk of dementia and suicide, particularly in adults over 60. Furthermore, it was reported that lonely people would often prioritize practicality over morality. To sum it up, while isolation may improve some cognitive functions and creativity in the short term, it can negatively impact mental health, cognitive function, and moral decision-making.
