Tencent is a Chinese multinational conglomerate founded in 1998 by Ma Huateng. The company started as an instant messaging service provider, but over the years, it has expanded into various other industries, including gaming, social media, and e-commerce. Tencent's most notable contribution to the gaming industry is the development and distribution of the popular game, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG). The company has also invested in numerous other gaming companies, including Riot Games, the developer of League of Legends. Today, Tencent is one of the largest and most valuable companies in the world, with a market capitalization of over $600 billion.
