Vinesh Phogat: Who she is and What she has accomplished

Vinesh Phogat, a now-retired wrestler, is the first Indian woman wrestler to win Gold in both Asian and Commonwealth games. She made India proud by becoming the first Indian woman to reach the Olympic final by defeating the Olympic champion, Yui Susaki, in the 2024 Olympics. The joy, however, was short-lived, as she was disqualified before the match, owing to being 100 grams overweight during the weigh-in. This meant she couldn't bring home the gold every Indian anticipated. This news was later followed by her announcement of retirement, which saddened the hearts of many Indians.
